The Regenstein Castle rises strikingly against the backdrop of the Harz Mountains. Seen from afar, it is not surprising that this rocky outcrop of sandstone was used for centuries as a castle and fortress. The ruins that are worked impressively into the rock give us an idea how important and combative Regenstein Castle once was.
Today the castle and fortress is one of the special attractions in Blankenburg and the Harz Mountains. The open air museum tells the story of Regenstein using different exhibits.
